Super Bowl Comedy Movies
- Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994) - Jim Carrey and Courteney Cox star in this flick about a goofy pet detective. A football team's mascot is stolen days before the Super Bowl. The team needs their dolphin mascot returned before the game. Will the pet detective be able to solve the case? (Rated PG)
- Eddie's Winning Date (2005) - It's 2002 and a New England fan, Eddie, bets against his Patriots. If Eddie loses, he has to call every woman he ever dated and dumped. The Patriots make Super Bowl history - what will Eddie do? This comedy is a short, with a running time of 15 minutes. (Not Rated)
- Heaven Can Wait (1978) - An overeager angel takes the life of Joe Pendleton, a Los Angeles Rams quarterback, before he was supposed to die and before he led his team to a Super Bowl victory. The angel tries to send Joe back to Earth but his body has been cremated. The angel opts to use the body of a recently murdered millionaire. Joe buys the L.A. Rams in an attempt to get them Super Bowl bound despite the backlash from his wife and his accountant, the murderers. (Rated PG)
- Where the Buffalo Roam (1980) - This biographical film is allegedly based on the life of gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson. Thompson, played by Bill Murray, and his attorney attempt to cover the Super Bowl and 1972 presidential election while in a drug-crazed condition. But the two keep getting sidetracked, mainly due to the lawyer's shenanigans. (Rated R)
Super Bowl Action Movies
- Black Sunday (1977) - Black September, a terrorist organization, is planning an attack in the United States. An Israeli anti-terrorist agent must stop the attack which is slated to take place at the Super Bowl. (Rated R)
- Sum of All Fears (2002) - CIA analyst Jack Ryan must save the world from an impending terrorist attack. Things come to a head when the nuclear weapon is set to be detonated at the Super Bowl in Baltimore where the president is in attendance. (Rated PG-13)
Super Bowl Drama and Romance Flicks
- How to Go Out on a Date in Queens (2006) - The lives of three couples are portrayed in this flick that takes place in a popular restaurant. A dating expert convinces his widowed friend to go out on a date which turns disastrous. A bookie tells his mistress that he is the target of the Russian Mafia. The restaurant's manager finds out that her boyfriend is not going to propose to her; instead he will bet all his savings on the Super Bowl. (Rated R)
- Two-Minute Warning (1976) - This dramatic thriller tells the story of art thieves who are plotting a robbery. To cause panic and mask their intentions, they have a sniper ready to start shooting during the Super Bowl. (Rated R)
Super Bowl Documentaries
- Straight White Men and Me (2000) - Director Antonia Kao hits men's lockers rooms, the ice rink, and the front of the cameras at the Super Bowl in an attempt to find out more about the mysterious creatures she calls white men. (Not Rated)
Super Bowl Family Movies
- You're in the Super Bowl, Charlie Brown! (1994) - In this 25-minute short, Snoopy coaches a group of birds to the Animal Football League Super Bowl. While Snoopy is busy with the birds, the Peanuts gang enters a contest. The winner receives a new bike and a trip to the Super Bowl. (Not Rated)
