May is the month that summer blockbusters start hitting the big screen. There's a slew of interesting movies to pick from, the majority of them comedies!

Thriller Flicks
- Priest - In an alternate world where man and vampires have fought for centuries, a woman is abducted by the murderous vampires and those who love her must fight to get her back. (Planned Release Date - May 13, 2011)
Action Flicks
- Thor - An all-star cast tells the story of a warrior who is sent to Earth to save mankind from the evil forces of Asgard. This movie will also be available in 3D and IMAX 3D. (Planned Release Date - May 6, 2011)
- Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides - Johnny Depp returns as Captain Jack Sparrow in the fourth instalment of the Pirates of the Caribbean series. Penelope Cruz stars as a woman from his past and Jack doesn't know if she or Blackbeard is a greater threat to him. This movie will also be available in 3D and IMAX 3D. Comedy Movies
- Jumping the Broom - An engaged couple come from two very different backgrounds. She comes from an affluent uptown family and he is from a downtown working class family. The groom's mother is against the marriage and pulls out all the stops to make sure the wedding never happens. Will she succeed? (Planned Release Date - May 6, 2011)
- Something Borrowed - Rachel is a single gal who finds herself in bed with the guy she has had a crush on since law school - her best friend's fiancé. The result is a slew of complications and stunning revelations. (Planned Release Date - May 6, 2011)
- Whiligig - Nicholas, a 25-year-old man, moves in with his parents at their retirement home. They aren't thrilled by the move and his mother schemes to get him out. In the meantime, Nicholas is carrying on with a woman, trying to win her heart with the help of her 12-year-old son. (Planned Release Date - May 6, 2011)
- Bridesmaids - The journey to the altar is rocky for a woman playing the role of maid of honor for her best friend. (Planned Release Date - May 13, 2011)
- Meet Monica Velour - Kim Cattrall stars as an 80s porn star who is sought out by a young man who is seeking the fantasy sexpot that he remembers. (Planned Release Date - May 13, 2011)
- Trophy Wife - It's 1977 in a small Canadian town when a traditional housewife with no apparent skills must save the day. Her family's business is sinking and she must take over when her husband suffers a heart attack. (Planned Release Date - May 13, 2011)
- The Hangover, Part II - This highly-anticipated sequel to last summer's hit, The Hangover, features the same four lovable characters. Instead of going to Vegas, they head to Thailand for Stu's wedding and get themselves into unimaginable trouble. (Planned Release Date - May 20, 2011)
- Kung Fu Panda 2 - Another sequel, this animated flick follows Po and The Furious Five as they fight against a mysterious villain. (Planned Release Date - May 20, 2011)
Documentary Flicks
- POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold - This documentary portrays the issues with branding, advertising, and product placement. (Planned Release Date - May 6, 2011)
- The Heart of Auschwitz - This is the true story of 20 Auschwitz prisoners who risked everything to make a heart-shaped book for the 20th birthday of a fellow prisoner. The book resides today in the Holocaust Commemorative Centre of Montreal. The film is in French with English subtitles. (Planned Release Date - May 13, 2011)
- Circo - Circo Mexico, a family circus, travels across Mexico in a quest for paying customers. Financial strain is a burden for all involved. (Planned Release Date - May 20, 2011)
- Forks Over Knives - This film attacks the theory that most degenerative diseases in North America (cancer, diabetes, heart disease, etc.) are preventable and/or reversible if we adopt a whole food, plant-based diet. (Planned Release Date - May 20, 2011)
Drama Movies
- The Bang Bang Club - Ryan Phillippe stars in this movie about four photographers in South Africa who are capturing on film the last days of apartheid. The lengths the four men go to get their pictures is extreme. (Planned Release Date - May 6, 2011)
- The Beaver - Jodie Foster directs and stars in this movie about a man, played by Mel Gibson, who is suffering from depression. To pull himself out of the depths, he enlists the aid of a beaver hand puppet. (Planned Release Date - May 6, 2011)
- Beat the World - Three dance crews prepare to compete in the Beat the World competition held in Detroit and take home the $100,000 top prize. (Planned Release Date - May 13, 2011)
- Meek's Cutoff - Three families hire a mountain man to take them over the Cascade Mountains in 1845. The man claims to know a shortcut but gets them lost. As they are struggling with hunger, thirst, and the desire to survive, they come across a wanderer. Who will lead them to safety? (Planned Release Date - May 13, 2011)
- Everything Must Go - After 16 years, Nick Porter (played by Will Ferrell) is fired from his job as a motivational speechwriter. He goes home to discover his wife has left him, changed the locks, and dumped his possessions on the front yard. He holds an absurd garage sale in a quest for survival and renewal. - The First Grader - The Kenyan government has granted a free education in one primary school in a remote village. One of the students is an unlikely candidate - an 80-year-old veteran who yearns to learn how to read. (Planned Release Date - May 20, 2011)
- Last Night - While apart for a night, a couple each encounter a tempting sexual opportunity, one with a work colleague, another with a past love. (Planned Release Date - May 20, 2011)
- Man on the Train - This is a remake of the 2002 French film of the same name. A teacher and a gangster meet in a small town pharmacy and develop an unlikely friendship. Each is envious of the other, leading to some unpredictable outcomes. Donald Sutherland stars as the teacher. (Planned Release Date - May 20, 2011)
