Writing prompts can kick your writing into gear when you are looking for inspiration.

Use the following writing prompts to motivate you.

Writing Prompts For the First Week of March

1st – With some people, their chronological age matches their mental age. For others, there is a massive difference in the two numbers. What do you attribute to the difference when someone's mental age is a lot higher or lower than their chronological age?

2nd – Is the use of chemical pesticides necessary? Are organic pesticides as effective?

3rd – Are people in society discriminated against if they are obese? How about in the workplace?

4th – You have been given the funds to completely renovate one room in your home. Which room would you pick and how would you remodel it?

5th – Stalkers can terrorize a person for years. Some people feel that current laws are too lax and that stalkers are allowed to get away with terrorizing a person for longer than is reasonable. What should be done to stop people who stalk others?

6th – Is global warming an issue we should be concerned about or is it a hoax perpetrated by people in power? There are strong opinions on both sides. Where do you fall?

7th – Who has been your longest friend? If she or he died and you were asked to speak at the funeral, what would you say in the eulogy?

Writing Prompts For the Second Week of March

8th – Should sperm donors have any paternal rights? Why or why not?

9th – Venus is the Goddess of love. Do you think Gods and Goddesses ever existed as humans or have they only been mythical figures? Why or why not?

10th – When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? If you'd been pursued that vocation, how would your life be different today?

11th – Do you believe abstinence only sex education classes are effective? Why or why not?

12th – You Tube has been the medium that launched many careers. What type of video of yourself would you like to post on You Tube in order to get your 15 minutes of fame? Describe what your video would entail.

13th – In general, are people proactive enough about their own health? Should preventative medicine play a bigger role than it does now?

14th – Clotheslines are controversial in some neighborhoods. Some people claim they are unsightly and bring down the appearance of the neighborhood. Others say they are a wise decision, especially in terms of reducing your footprint and saving electricity. What is your opinion?

Writing Prompts For the Third Week of March

15th – Will world peace ever be a reality? Why or why not?

16th – If all residents in the most obese city in the world were given a trampoline and ordered by law to jump on it for 30 minutes a day, what changes, if any, would occur in the town after six months?

17th – Twenty-five years ago, it was predicted that we would all wear disposable clothes, items that were made of a type of biodegradable paper that were worn once and then thrown away. Do you think that will ever become a reality? Why or why not?

18th – What would you say to the people who are adamant that the Holocaust never existed?

19th – Who is the biggest superstar you can think of? What do you think a typical day is like in his or her life? Chronicle it.

20th – Plans for what to do with the land where the World Trade Centers fell keep changing. What do you think should be done with the space or built in that area?

21st – Some people claim that violence against men is not taken as seriously as violence against women. Do you agree with this or not? Why?

Writing Prompts For the Fourth Week of March

22nd – Does freedom of speech include the Internet? Should people be allowed to say whatever they want online?

24th – Private detectives cross into areas of people's lives that some people may deem unacceptable. What rights do you think private detectives should have and how far should they be allowed to go in their quest for the truth?

25th – Who is the person in your life that you are the closest to? If they were kidnapped, how much ransom money would you be willing to pay for their return? How much would they pay for you if the situations were reversed?

26th – Offshore drilling has serious economic and environmental impacts. Does the positive effect on the economy of the drilling outweigh the potential environmental issues? What is your opinion on offshore drilling?

27th – If it was determined that human life could exist on Mars, would you have any interest in being one of the first people to move there? Why or why not?

28th – If Quebec ever follows through on their threat to separate from Canada and become their own country, will it affect your life at all? If yes, how? If no, do you think a province separating from a country is a good or bad thing?

Writing Prompts For the Last Few Days in March

29th – The majority of people have a love or hate relationship with Wal-Mart. What is your opinion of the retail giant?

30th – How has your writing been the previous 29 days this month? Are you satisfied? How can you improve next month?
