Writing Prompts For the First Week of November

November 1st – Do men or women make better bosses? Why?

November 2nd – Why do people gossip?

November 3rd – When someone is rescued, should they be liable for the costs? For example, someone who climbs a mountain and is too terrified to climb down so they need to be rescued? Or someone who drives into a raging river and needs help to get out.

November 4th – On average, we get two hours less sleep than our ancestors did 100 years ago. What effect do you think getting less sleep has on an individual and on society as a whole?

November 5th – Most children go to school from fall to early summer with two months off for summer vacation. A small percentage of schools go year-round; the children go approximately the same number of days every year but they are spread out so there isn't a two month gap off. Which schooling method do you think is better for a child's education?

November 6th – How effective do you think current weather forecasting systems are? What challenges do you think weather forecasters deal with?

November 7th – The myths of Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster have been around for decades. Do these alleged creatures exist? If yes, how have we been unable to get confirmation of their existence? In no, then why do you think the stories keep popping up?

Writing Prompts For the Second Week of November

November 8th – Are vaccines worth the risks?

November 9th – When a teenager starts university, is it better for him or her to continue to live at home (if geographically possible), in a dorm room, or in off-campus housing?

November 10th – People who live off the grid are able to survive without any dependence on outside resources. Would you be able to survive if left to manage on your own? What skills would you need to learn to live off the grid?

November 11th – Bigamy is against the law in most countries but do you think people should be allowed to marry more than one person if they wish? Why or why not?

November 12th – What do you think is the key to success? Does luck play any role? How about education?

November 13th – Meteorites hit the Earth often. Do you think one will ever hit our planet that is big enough to cause catastrophic, wide-spread damage? Can we prepare for such an event taking place?

November 14th – In terms of raising a well-balanced child, is it better for a child to be raised in one place for their entire childhood or is it better to move to new places occasionally?

Writing Prompts For the Third Week of November

November 15th – School uniforms are a hot topic. Some people claim it destroys a child's individuality. Others say it is a great idea as it keeps children on an even keel. Which way of thinking do you lean toward?

November 16th – In what instances are cheating and/or lying acceptable?

November 17th – Do lottery companies and casinos have an obligation to provide aid to gamblers? Why or why not?

November 18th – Should the victims of a cybercrime be eligible for compensation? If no, why not? If yes, how could this be achieved?

November 19th – Should people be concerned about the thinning of the ozone layer in the Earth's atmosphere? Why or why not?

November 20th – Should people know how to speak more than one language?

November 21st – When alcohol companies advertise their liquor, does it encourage underage drinking? Why or why not?

Writing Prompts For the Fourth Week of November

November 22nd – Should all individuals have the right to carry a gun?

November 23rd – When people have something horrible happen to them, they have two choices; they can choose to step out of the history and not be defined by the past or they can let history define the rest of their life. If you lived through a trauma, what road would you go down afterward?

November 24th – What is your favourite book? Why is it your favourite?

November 25th – How accurate are movies about historical events? For example, Pearl Harbor and Valkyrie. Should movie makers be allowed to skew historical events in order to increase entertainment value?

November 26th – What aspect of websites do you find the most annoying? What aspects are the most helpful? If you created a website for yourself, what tabs would you like to create and what information would you make sure you included? If you already have a website, what would you like to do to make it better?

November 27th – Have we become too dependent on computers?

November 28th – "An eye for an eye" is the way some people feel about justice. Do you wish this was the way the legal system worked? If someone was murdered, should the murdered be killed? If someone abused someone, should they be abused in return?

Writing Prompts For the Last Few Days in November

November 29th – Should there be a cap on how much professional athletes can be paid?

November 30th – Bottled water is a multi-billion dollar industry. Do you think bottled water is safer than tap water?
